Acceptable use

The do’s, the don’ts, and how we handle a violation when enforcement is needed.

Last updated 2026-08-17 — language is a working draft, not legal advice.

The do

What Tollcast is for

Tollcast is built for the solo creator, the newsletter operator, the indie founder. Use it to draft on-brand replies to brand mentions, queue them in your voice, and ship from there. Use it to train a voice profile on posts you authored. Use it to schedule the Monday brief and the held-mention alert that comes with a paid plan.

The don’t

What isn’t allowed

Don't generate replies for anyone other than yourself. Don't train the voice profile on content you didn't write or that you don't have rights to. Don't republish drafts to a third party dataset, use the queue output to train a third-party model, or resell the service without the team's go-ahead.

Don't impersonate other people's voice without their consent. Don't use Tollcast to publish misinformation, spam, hate speech, or anything illegal in your jurisdiction. The platform reserves the right to pause or close an account that crosses these lines.

Enforcement

What happens on a violation

We notice violations through user reports and routine monitors. First-time boundary crossings usually get a written warning; clear abuse escalates to account suspension. We commit to escalating proportionally and to giving a creator a chance to respond before a permanent close.
